Rent, Utility Assistance, Car Repair and Basic Household Needs

Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance program provides help with rent, utilities and car repair to residents of the Diocese of Arlington who are facing a temporary financial emergency.

What We Do

Emergency Assistance

Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance ministry serves individuals and families who are experiencing emergency financial needs and have received a late rent or utility cutoff notice, or are in need of essential car repairs. We provide assistance to people who live within the geographical boundaries of the Diocese of Arlington regardless of race, religion, or nationality.

Please email for help. Include your name, telephone number, email address and type of assistance needed. Once you send an email you will receive a screening questionnaire which must be completed entirely in order to receive a response.

To receive rent, utility or car assistance, Catholic Charities requires recipients to meet eligibility requirements. See details by clicking below.

Many social services offices offer various programs to include: financial assistance, food, health, housing and other services. The following list provides the phone number and email for each social services office by county and city:

Household and personal hygiene needs

Catholic Charities Mobile Response Center (MRC) makes monthly distributions in communities in our diocese, providing basic supplies to individuals and families struggling to make ends meet. We offer hygiene products, diapers, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies and more directly to residents.

Need food?

While Catholic Charities MRC does not distribute food, its St. Lucy Food Project does provide nonperishable foods and fresh meat, dairy and produce. Please see our Food Pantry List.
