Workforce Training

Catholic Charities offers workforce training and instruction to give refugees, immigrants, unemployed, and under employed individuals industry-recognized credentials so that they can be more employable and productive members of society. During the COVID-19 pandemic all classes will be offered online.

Services We Provide for Employers

We will design language training for your employees relevant to your workplace. Your customized curriculum could include:

  • Contextualized English instruction (i.e. customer service, hospitality)
  • Industry-specific vocabulary and concepts (i.e. construction, retail)
  • Employer-specific vocabulary and concepts based on your business and expectations
  • Relevant workplace training (i.e. soft skills)
  • Additional industry-specific training and certifications (i.e. digital literacy, American Red Cross adult and pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED, ServSafe)

General office hours:

Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm

*Closed to the public on Fridays

Migration and Refugee Services Workforce Training and Placement

We offer the following services FREE of charge to residents of Northern Virginia that are refugees, asylees, SIVs, victims of human trafficking, or Cuban parolees:

  • Employment counseling
  • Job development and placement
  • Employment training
  • Professional recertification
  • Interview and resume skills
  • Possible financial assistance to pay for housing, utilities, transportation, etc.
