Volunteer Opportunities

We depend on the generous support of our volunteers’ time and talents. Below are some volunteer opportunities that may be of interest. If you have any suggestions or skills that are not listed but you still want to assist, please contact us. Please email us at adoptinfo@ccda.net, if interested.

Outreach Team Member:

Strategize with a team of volunteers and staff to connect with relevant community organizations (hospitals, pregnancy centers, parishes/churches/etc.) and partners to share information about our program and build relationships. Our outreach team meets about once every quarter and will schedule meetings according to all participants' availability. Follow up work can be remote or in the office.

General Program Support:

Assist with support tasks related to the work of our program in the office including filing, greeting clients, answering phones, sending emails, etc. Other duties may include attending program events such as training or information meetings when available, assisting with baby closet donations (distribution and inventory), help with planning events, etc.

Prayer Warrior Coordinator:

Assist with developing, tracking and maintaining communications with prayer warriors who are committed to prayerfully supporting our program. The coordinator will assist in recruiting prayer warriors, tracking prayer commitments, and maintaining communications by sending out prayer requests periodically via email. The structure of this can be developed by the coordinator and program manager. This volunteer position can be remote with occasional meeting with staff in office.

Pregnancy & Adoption Volunteer Writer

Seeking storytellers and pregnancy and adoption advocates! This is mostly a remote opportunity that is perfect for working professionals looking to make an impact! There are many stories that come out of our critical pregnancy and adoption work but not enough time to document them all. PAS is seeking a writer who can take on monthly or quarterly writing assignments for our blog. Each submission would be 500-700 words. PAS director will provide parameters and guidelines for each topic assigned, the volunteer will likely reach out to a client (when applicable) to interview for the piece and then compile a blog post on it to be reviewed and edited by the program director. Here are some examples:

Our Fiat (Our Family’s Yes to Adoption)
Honoring Our Son’s Chinese Culture

Pregnancy & Adoption Volunteer Spanish Translator

Pregnancy and Adoption is seeking Spanish to English translator volunteers. Most translations can be done during flexible hours in-person, zoom, or over the phone. We have clients we are working with who have recently placed their child/ern for adoption. We have a resource, the 12 Steps to Birth Parent Grief, which we always provide a copy to our clients and they work through each step with their counselor. We are looking for volunteer/s to work through each step with the client, translate the information for the client, and then review the workbook with one of our workers. Sadly, there are many resources that are not available in Spanish and this would be a huge help! All translators would be trained on how to complete the workbook and would require a background check.

If you are unable to volunteer with us at this time, another big way you can support our program is to follow and engage with our content on social media!  While this may seem relatively unimportant, it is actually critical as the more activity our content gets, the more “validated” we become by the search engines.  This means that when someone is in crisis and needs help, we will be more likely to be listed as a resource for them in an internet search.
