Bridget Magnusen, MS, LCPC

Adoption Supervisor

Hello! I joined this team in 2018. Before coming to Catholic Charities, I completed my master’s in Clinical Psychology and worked with families in transitional housing, and in schools, grades PreK-8. I’ve always been interested in listening to people’s stories and helping them find solutions to the challenges they face. In my work now I never cease to be amazed by the incredible courage and resilience my clients demonstrate in the face of overwhelming odds. I love watching my clients find their voice and engage their strengths and talents as they become empowered to make their own fully-informed choices and write their own stories.

A typical day in my life at Catholic Charities involves me working from our Fairfax office providing options counseling to expectant parents, supporting our waiting adoptive families with ongoing adoption education opportunities and connecting with other professionals in the community to promote pregnancy and adoption support. I'm fortunate and honored to be part of a team that is supportive and committed to our shared goal of transforming families.

My co-workers and close friends typically describe me as loyal, cheerful, organized and calm under pressure.

Loves: Lord of the Rings, movie scores, my Catholic faith, coffee, any combination of peanut butter & chocolate, and home-improvement projects

Dislikes: Cloudy days, cold weather, peas and messy kitchen counters

Please reach out by phone or e-mail - I’d love to learn more about you and support you in your journey, wherever you’re at right now because “there’s some good in the world and it’s worth fighting for” (Sam Gamgee, The Lord of the Rings).
