Melissa Alba
Pregnancy and Adoption Support Intern
Hello Everyone! My name is Melissa, I am a first year MSW student at George Mason University and I am excited to intern at PAS this year! Before joining this team, I worked for Bridges International, a campus ministry for 7 years. During the pandemic I had a “aha” moment, which lead
me to graduate school. Social Work has always been a profession I could see myself pursuing, and now it is becoming a reality! I am looking forward to growth not only within new skill sets but also in my passions, one being the Latino community. I am excited to learn from the PAS staff and grow as a future
Social Worker, through this internship!
A little about myself, I was born and raised in Fairfax, VA by an amazing single mom and I have 3 wonderful sisters. I am Bolivian-American, bilingual (Spanish/English) and I am a dog-mom to Milo, a Satito (which stands for “mut”) rescue from Puerto Rico! People in my life
would describe me as compassionate, loyal, resilient and easygoing.
Loves: dogs, trying new food cuisines, hammocking, traveling, and Jesus!
Dislikes: olives, people taking advantage of others, and toilet paper going under (it’s over!).
Please feel free to reach out by
e-mail - I would love to connect and help as I can!
