Responding to Racism: Understanding, Conversion, Action

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington will present Responding to Racism: Understanding, Conversion, Action with Bishop Michael F. Burbidge and Rev. Scott Woods, a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington, at The Church of the Nativity, Burke, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The event, co-sponsored by the diocesan Peace and Justice Commission and the Office of Multicultural Ministries, is open with limited seating for 100 people who register to attend in person. Safe distancing will be practices and masks or face coverings are required. Hand sanitizer will be available upon arrival and departure. RSVP strongly encouraged by Aug. 21 to  volunteer@ccda.net or call 703-841-3830. The event will live streamed on the  Catholic Diocese of Arlington's YouTube channel.

 

Responding to Racism

 

Fr. Woods is pastor of two Southern Maryland parishes, St. Cecilia Catholic Church, St. Mary's City, and St. Peter Claver, St. Inigoes. He is also chaplain and founder of the spiritual direction program at St. Mary's Ryken Catholic School in Leonardtown. Fr. Bob Cilinski, diocesan Episcopal Vicar of Charitable Works and the Pastor of the Church of the Nativity, will serve as emcee.
