CATHOLIC CHARITIES RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM ENDING; LUNCHEON RECOGNIZES 40 YEARS OF SERVICE

Arlington, Virginia –

What: Catholic Charities’ Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Arlington, Alexandria and surrounding areas is ending after nearly 40 years of service. A luncheon celebrates the program’s many volunteers and contributions to the community. The RSVP program is ending due to recent federal budget cuts through the Volunteer Domestic Volunteer Service Act (DVSA).

Who:  RSVP volunteers, interns, staff, volunteer station contacts (current and former). RSVP matches the individual interests and skills of persons aged 55 and better with opportunities to meet community needs while supporting and recognizing their service.

When: Tuesday, June 21, 2011, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
